Welcome to MPSmits.com! This website has two main subjects: the freeware and shareware archive and the forum. Besides that there's a weblog, chat, an archive with previous content and much more.

About the webmaster
My name is Marcel and I've been a webdeveloper since the introduction of Internet at home (I think this was around 1994). I participated in a beta test for Internet at home, and from the first minute I used it I knew this is where my future was. I started building simple homepages by teaching the techniques to myself, and tried to keep myself up-to-date of new techniques where possible. From HTML I got to Javascript, HTMLscript (now Miva), Java etc. This is what I kept doing, and started specializing in dynamic content (with the use of databases). I currently program in ASP, Mivascript, PHP and ColdFusion.

Around 1997 I started two large websites: Digifriends.com and PhonoLand.com. Digifriends.com is mainly a freeware and shareware archive and is now part of MPSmits.Com, which, besides the software archive, also focuses on a large forum about computers and related subjects and much more. PhonoLand.com focuses on collectors of antique items and is mainly a large message board where collectors can meet, exchange messages and much more.

Under construction
Earlier this year I started redesigning both my websites. I started with PhonoLand.com which is now up and running, but I am still working on the MPSmits.Com. I expect MPSmits.Com to be ready somewhere around august 2006.
